Abstract

Cotton is known as ‘‘The King of Fibers’’ and the natural fiber of the world. This
current research was carried out to check the toxicity of endosulfan and imidacloprid against
sucking insects like thrips and whitefly. The research was performed in district Sheikhupura in
2023. For thrips and white fly, the data were recorded before 24 hours of spray, and then data were
collected at 24, 48 and 72 hours and after that with a two-week duration until October. 25 plants
were selected and from every plant 1 leaf from lower, middle and upper leaves were chosen, at
different heights. In August spraying was performed when the economic threshold level (ETL)
was reached. Results exhibited that the best toxicity was recorded in imidacloprid compared to
endosulfan against whitefly and thrip population control. Hence, it was concluded that whitefly
and thrips caused a huge amount of crop loss in cotton so, managed it timely by spraying the
insecticides with suitable time intervals for better yield of cotton.
